Omega-3 by Dr. Sinatra vs. Krill Oil

Review Guide for Doctor Recommended Supplements

Omega Q Plus vs. Krill Oil: What is the Best Choice for You?

Omega Q Plus, a dietary supplement formulated by Dr. Stephen Sinatra, a well known and respected cardiologist, teacher and author, is a combination of Omega-3 EFAs, and highly bioavailable CoQ10. It provides support for the brain, joints and skin and has tremendous whole body antioxidant protection.

To quote Dr. Sinatra: “Believe it or not, I removed the fish oil – and made Omega Q Plus twice as potent for your heart, brain and eyes!”

Dr. Sinatra replaced the fish oil in Omega Q plus with Calamarine, a pure and potent extract that comes from South American calamari (squid). Calamarine provides 85% more DHA than fish oil and has no aftertaste and won’t repeat after eating like many fish oils. It still gives you the most highly bioavailable CoQ10 for heart health and high energy levels. Omega Q Plus gives you the added benefits of L–Carnitine, Vitamin E and key B vitamins.

Omega Q Plus helps support a strong, healthy heart, gives greater physical and mental energy, gives superior antioxidant protection, helps with a healthy immune system, helps provide healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and supports healthy eyes.

Krill Oil

Krill oil comes from shrimp-like shellfish.

Krill oil is extracted and sold as a nutritional supplement in the form of a capsule. It contains Omega-3 fatty acids. Krill oil also contains an antioxidant called astaxanthin. Krill eat algae that produce the bright red astaxanthin that gives Krill and other shellfish such as shrimp and lobsters their pink color.

Krill oil contains higher amounts of astaxanthin than fish oil and doesn’t cause a fishy breath in or the burping of fish taste. These are commonly associated with fish oil.

While both fish oil and Krill oil contain Omega 3 fatty acids, krill oil contains many more antioxidants than fish oil.

Both fish oil and krill oil can relieve high cholesterol, high blood pressure and heart disease.
The big difference between Omega Q Plus and krill oil seems to be that Omega Q Plus is formulated to contain other fine products like CoQ10, L–Carnitine and vitamins E and B, all of which have added health benefits on top of the benefits of either krill oil or the calamarine that substitutes for fish oil in Omega Q Plus.
